Horst Schwetlick

Biography

Prof. Dr. Horst Schwetlick is Senior Member of the IEEE. He received his Diploma and Doctoral Degree in EE from the Technical University Berlin in 1979 and 1986, and his MS from Cornell University USA in 1982.

From 1986 to 1988 he visited the Kyoto and Tokyo Tokyo Institutes of Technology in Japan with a Humboldt and JSPS fellowship, working mainly in the in the area of ultrasonic signal processing.

In 1991 he became Professor at the Fachhochschule of the German Telekom, since 1995 he teaches at FHTW-Berlin, University for Applied Sciences.

His research interests are signal processing and simulations for wireless communications, modulation and coding.

Juan Carlos Gomez

Biography

Prof. Dr. Juan Carlos Gomez is IEEE Senior Member. He received his Diploma as Electromechanic Engineeer in 1974, and his Ph.D from the School of Engineering, Information and Technology; Sheffield Hallam University (UK) in 1994.

He has been visitant professor at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Kansas State University, USA for several years.

His research interests are Power Electronics and Energy, Distributed Generation and Smart Grids.
